Covid-19 Testing Update

There are issues with Covid-19 testing capacity across England. Please only get tested if you have symptoms – high temperature; new, continuous cough; loss or change to sense of smell/taste.

Book at test or request a home test kit at nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 119. The website refreshes as sessions and availability come online and also includes mobile testing units when deployed.

We are aware there have been issues with testing capacity nationally following a large increase in the number of people seeking a test for coronavirus, partly due to the return of schools and the testing of international travellers. This has subsequently put a strain on the laboratories which process the tests.

We ask that people only get a Covid-19 test if they have symptoms of the virus – a high temperature; a new, continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

You can book an appointment at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119. If there is no availability, please continue to access the website as it refreshes as further sessions and availability come online.

You can also use the site to order a home test kit.

Additionally, mobile testing units (MTU) will be deployed in the borough. We will communicate these via the CCG and council websites; social media channels and via local press when the dates and times are confirmed. Tests at the MTU can be booked via the above site when this is confirmed.
